Tires That Grip Fuel That Doesnt Sip
If you are looking for confidence on the wet or snowy roads, these tires are for you!! They grip the road particularly well in those conditions. They are pretty quiet, except maybe on brand new asphalt you can hear a hum. I've driven in a couple of mild wintry conditions with them, and they grip the road well. However, as one might expect with this type of tread pattern, there's a small trade-off you have to be willing to pay at the pump. My fuel economy dipped 5-10% with these new tires (and I drive a hybrid), despite the better grip on the roads than the previous Michelins that I had on my Escape. The Michelins I had were good on gas, but were NOT good in the snow and wet. So, it's a trade-off I'm willing to accept for comfort and re-assurance in bad conditions. You need to decide for yourself what's most important to you when you are considering these types of tires, whether you drive a hybrid or not. I'm not necessarily bashing the tires, because I'm happy with my purchase, but there are things to consider. They were also a little bit pricier than I'm comfortable spending, and that was even after the manager gave me a discount. For my Escape, the total out the door with installation, mounting, and balancing was just over $1000 for four new tires. However, the Firestone that I go to always treats me right, and they did a fine job putting them on, as I've had no issues. It's too early in my tire ownership to comment on the wear for these tires. I've noticed in some other reviews some folks complained about tire wear, but I don't know if they were getting their tires rotated every 5,000 miles, like it's recommended. Since I get my oil changed every 5000 miles, I will have Firestone rotate them for me, since it's free with purchase of 4 new tires.

My friend had these tires on his cars. He liked the winter performance and suggested them. This is our second set. Hoping they continue to give us good perfomance and good ride.

    Should last longer
Fantastic performance in snow and on wet slushy roads. No hydroplaning. My 4th set. Never last more than 40,000 miles, even with routine rotation (every oil change) and with alignment every 25,000 miles. For West Virginia mountains, snow, roads that don't get treated for days, these are your best tires. Just don't expect these tires to last 65,000.

    Great Tires, Great Value
I have purchased this tire twice. My wife loves them and I love that I can depend on them to get her to and from work. We drive 110 miles round trip every working day and it is a relief for me that she has tires on her vehicle that we can depend on. We don't work the same hours so both of our vehicles are on the road all of the time. We have not had an ounce of trouble with these tires. Thank you Firestone!!!
